Watersports in Vero Beach, Florida

If you’re vacationing near Vero Beach, you want to spend all of your time outside. Watersports and activities are the perfect way to experience East Florida’s abundance of wildlife, clear skies and nearby islands while making new memories along the way. At Vero Tackle & Watersports, it’s our mission to take the stress out of planning family fun by offering fishing charters, paddleboards, kayaks and rental boats for your convenience.

Vero Tackle & Watersports is located directly on the Indian River Lagoon with access to a plethora of local beaches. Whether you are looking to explore the riverside or soak up some sun on the sand, our watersport activities and rentals make nearby water sources a key part of your visit. Enjoy sightseeing, outdoor relaxation, and fishing all at our one-stop spot!

Want to head out fishing on the lagoon but have never driven a boat? Fishing charters take you to fishing hot spots where you can find Snook, Tarpon, Trout, Redfish, Permit and Kingfish. By setting you up with one of our captains, we allow you and your guests to navigate waters safely for the big catch of the day.

The captains at Vero Tackle & Watersports have spent most of their lives mastering the lagoon, so they give you insight into the best methods for reeling in a winner. Our fishing charter bookings are great for family vacations, work retreats and even solo trips with the option to go inshore or offshore for up to eight hours.

Paddleboarding and kayaking are popular watersports among the locals in Vero Beach. With warm weather conditions year-round, you have the option to rent our equipment for an all-new experience on the Indian River Lagoon or nearby beaches. Traveling to East Florida with paddleboards and kayaks can be a hassle, so we save you time, money and effort with high-end gear onsite.

Rent our equipment for exactly how long you need, and there’s a good chance you’ll see otters, turtles, dolphins and even manatees along the way. Paddleboard and kayak rentals are suitable for riverside and beachfront applications. We offer a free lesson with each rental agreement, and you can embark on a guided tour of the lagoon with a certified instructor.

Paddleboards and kayaks give you an up-close view of fish and connecting islands like you’ve never seen before. Speak to one of our experts about scheduling a tour to see the sunset!

Looking to take a stroll of the lagoon by boat? Vero Tackle & Watersports has a fleet of rental pontoons for up to 10 passengers. Rather than transporting your boat to East Florida, our rentals have a permanent home right on our dock.

Book a rental between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. any day of the week for hours of relaxation with friends and family. Finding everything you need to go fishing is simple with our bait and tackle shop located just footsteps away from the marina. You’ll be sure to get a bite on the water with our lures, rods and reels for sale.

Our pontoons undergo regular maintenance, and we’ll send you off with a full tank of fuel for exploration.

Our boats are driven to the middle of the river where dolphins enjoy playing and jumping. We also get our boats close enough to shore and the mangrove plants where the manatees, otters and turtles typically are spotted. You will see many species of water birds, as the area is native to pelicans, herons, egrets, storks, ibis, spoonbills, ospreys, cranes and ducks. Be sure to look up to see the birds flying overhead, diving in the water for fish, or walking on the shore.

What to expect, what to bring

Every trip is unique in what is seen, and you can rely on your tour guide for information.

Guests are welcome to bring snacks and non-alcoholic beverages, and we recommend wearing sunscreen and a hat for daytime cruises. For sunset cruises in the fall and winter months, we recommend a jacket or light sweater.

And you’ll want to bring your camera! During your cruise, we invite you to share your photos and tag us at #VeroTackle
