Tiki Boat FAQ
What Kind of Events Can I Celebrate on the Tiki Boat Tour?
Almost anything you can dream up! Because every cruise is a private charter for up to six guests, the tiki boat makes an unforgettable venue for:
-
Birthdays & Anniversaries – Cake, candles, and river views.
-
Proposals & Romantic Date Nights – Sunset backdrop included.
-
Bachelor/Bachelorette or “Last Splash” Parties – Add our Tiki-Oke karaoke for extra fun.
-
Family Reunions & Vacation Highlights – A relaxed way to show off the Indian River Lagoon.
-
Girls’/Guys’ Night Out – BYOB and stream your own playlist.
-
Corporate Team-Builders & Client Thank-Yous – Casual networking on the water.
-
Graduations, Retirements, Holiday Light Cruises, or Just-Because Fridays – No excuse required!
Tell us the occasion when you book, and we’ll help you tailor the vibe—think balloons, specialty drinks, or a custom playlist—so your milestone feels one-of-a-kind.
When Should I Book My Tiki Boat Tour?
Reserve as early as you can—especially for sunset slots and weekends.
-
Peak demand: Fridays, Saturdays, holidays, and our golden-hour sunset cruises usually sell out first. Booking 7–14 days in advance locks in your preferred date and time.
-
High season: March–August and Thanksgiving–New Year’s see the most traffic in Vero Beach; plan even farther ahead if you’re traveling then.
-
Last-minute plans: Same-day or next-day seats sometimes open up—check our online calendar or call the shop and we’ll do our best to fit you in.
-
Weather flexibility: If the captain cancels for unsafe conditions, you can rebook or receive a full refund, so booking early carries no risk.
Bottom line: the sooner you reserve, the better your chances of snagging that perfect tiki time.
How Much Does a Tiki Boat in Vero Cost?
It’s a flat, per-boat rate—so invite the whole crew (up to 6 people):
-
Daytime Cruise: $189 for any slot between the first launch and late afternoon.
-
Sunset & Golden-Hour Cruise: $240—our most popular time, especially on weekends.
The price covers the entire 90-minute private charter, licensed captain, fuel, coolers, ice, and Bluetooth sound system—no hidden fees. Optional upgrades such as the “Tiki-Oke” karaoke package or custom décor can be added at checkout for a small extra fee.
Pro tip: Third-party sites sometimes list higher rates to cover their booking fees; you’ll always get the best price by reserving directly at Vero Watersports or calling 772-234-9585.
How Many People Can Ride on the Tiki Boat?
Six passengers, plus your licensed captain—that’s it.
U.S. Coast Guard regulations limit our tiki boat to no more than six guests of any age or size (infants count, too). Keeping the head-count small means everyone has a comfy seat, room to mingle, and a safer ride. Have a bigger group? Book back-to-back cruises or ask about adding a second boat so everyone can join the fun.
What Should We Bring on Our Tiki Boat Tour?
Pack light—just the fun stuff:
✔️ Bring | Why |
---|---|
Photo-ready phone or camera | Dolphins don’t pose twice. |
Snacks & BYOB drinks | We supply the cooler, ice, and bottle opener. |
Valid ID / booking confirmation | Helps us check you in quickly. |
Sunscreen & sunglasses | Florida sun is no joke, even under our tiki roof. |
Light jacket or wrap | Sunset breezes can feel cool on the water. |
Non-slip sandals or deck shoes | Flip-flops welcome; stilettos, not so much. |
Favorite playlist | Bluetooth sound system is ready to rock. |
Cash | 15–20 % is recommended for great service. |
Occasion décor (balloons, banners) | We’ll help set up—skip confetti or glitter. |
Sense of adventure | Everything’s better on a floating tiki bar! |
No need to haul: life jackets, ice, coolers, speakers—we’ve got those covered. Just show up, step aboard, and let the good times float.
You can also decorate the boat if you wish. Let us know how we can help!
Is There Music on Board The Tiki Boat?
Absolutely—your floating tiki comes with its own soundtrack.
-
A marine-grade Bluetooth sound system (amp + speakers) is built in, so you can pair any phone and stream Spotify, Apple Music, or your favorite playlist in seconds.
-
Forgot tunes? We keep a captain-curated mix.
-
Want to go full party mode? Add the “Tiki-Oke” karaoke package when you book—wireless mic, lyrics tablet, and LED party lights turn the boat into your own floating stage.
-
Volume stays conversation-friendly, but the captain can crank it up (or dial it down) to match your mood.
What Should I Wear on the Tiki Boat?
Keep it comfy, selfie-ready, and breeze-proof:
-
Light, breathable layers – think T-shirt or sundress by day, a light hoodie or wrap for the sunset chill.
-
Footwear that grips – flip-flops, boat shoes, or bare feet; skip high heels or slick-soled sandals.
-
Theme or celebration flair – Hawaiian shirts, birthday sashes, bride-to-be veils—go for it! (Just avoid loose glitter or confetti.)
How Long is the Tiki Boat Tour?
Every cruise runs 90 glorious minutes—no more, no less.
That gives you plenty of time to:
-
Settle in with your drinks and playlist
-
Explore the Indian River Lagoon’s dolphins, mangroves, and mansions
-
Snap photos against a postcard-perfect backdrop (especially at sunset)
-
Unwind without feeling rushed back to the dock
It’s the sweet spot: long enough to feel like a true escape, short enough to fit any Vero Beach itinerary.
What Comes on the Tiki Boat?
Everything you need for a floating good-time—already on board:
-
Licensed captain – handles the helm so you can relax.
-
Full-shade tiki roof – stay cool and glare-free.
-
Bar stools & bench seating for up to 6 guests.
-
Marine cooler packed with ice plus napkins, bottle-/wine opener.
-
Bluetooth sound system – pair your phone in seconds (or enjoy our playlist).
-
Coast Guard-approved safety gear – life jackets in infant, child, youth & adult sizes, throw cushion, fire extinguisher.
-
Stable, open deck space for dancing, photos, or laid-back lounging.
-
Soft LED mood lighting for golden hour and night cruises.
Popular extras: add the “Tiki-Oke” karaoke kit (wireless mic, lyrics tablet, party lights) or let us pre-stock the cooler with your favorite drinks for an additional fee. Food and beverages are BYO; restrooms are available dockside before and after your 90-minute cruise.
Is There a Bathroom on Board?
No, the tiki boat itself doesn’t have a restroom.
-
Pre- and post-cruise: Clean, public restrooms are steps away at Riverside Café or Vero Tackle, right next to our dock.
-
Mid-tour emergencies: The lagoon is calm and we’re never far from shore—your captain can return to the dock or a nearby facility quickly if nature calls.
Tip: Plan a quick stop before boarding so you can kick back and enjoy the full 90-minute cruise without interruption.
Should We Tip Our Captain?
Gratuity is never required, but it’s the normal way to say “thanks” for great service.
-
Standard range: 15–20 % of the charter price is recommended for a private boat tour in Florida.
-
Pay however you like: Most guests hand the captain cash, but Venmo/credit-card tips work too—just ask your captain.
-
Why tip? Your USCG-licensed captain isn’t just driving; they’re your guide, safety officer, personal DJ, wildlife spotter, and photographer. A tip recognizes that extra effort.
If your crew had a fantastic time, showing appreciation keeps good vibes afloat for everyone.
